From Monday Blues to Spring Florals

Hey everyone! It's been about 8 months since I last posted, but after a very long winter of working all the time and too much snow, I finally want to get back into it.

A pretty floral dress can make any Monday just a little bit better. Thanks to the warm weather (!), I'm taking the opportunity to wear one my favorite new dresses from Express. As soon as they got it in the stores, I had my eye on it for weeks before I bought it.

I paired the dress with a simple black cardigan and tan booties (also from Express - they're really comfortable!).  I went light on the accessories - just my watch, ring, and studs - because I wanted the floral to stand out on its own. I love the colors, the cut of the straps, and the length of the dress. Cute AND work appropriate.

Happy Monday!

Red & White Stripes

June was a crazy and hectic month for me. I graduated from Drexel University (SCARY) and moved back home to New York. After a month of not blogging, I couldn't wait to start posting again.

I found this skirt on sale in Kohl's for $12.99 and couldn't resist the cute red and white stripes. I paired it with a tucked-in loose white top and my tan and white wedges to make an adorable July summer outfit. It kind of felt like a cross between Taylor Swift and a grown up working woman. It's perfect for a lunch date or a casual day at work.

What do you think? How do you wear red and white stripes?

Summer Shoe Wishlist

Daily Style: A Floral Breeze

The next few days in Philadelphia are supposed to be hot and humid. I like the hot...but I hate the humid. I have a long day of classes coming up, so it can be hard to dress for the extremely warm walk to class and the classroom. What if it's cold in the room? For that reason I'm playing it safe today by wearing something light that still provides a little warmth, if needed.

I've been obsessed with this Lauren Conrad blouse (Kohls) ever since my grandma gave it to me as a gift. It's light enough for days like today and it's also so pretty. I paired it with some slightly high-waisted shorts (Selena Gomez, K-Mart), a plain white tee (Urban Outfitters), and some white sandals (Ross Dress For Less). Nothing in this outfit is new - in fact, most of it is over a year old - but I've never actually worn them together.

It's coming down to my last few weeks of college ever. Where has this last term gone?! There is so much I want to do still. I've actually made a list of things I want to do and places I want to go in Philly before I leave. I hope I can get through it all in the next 2 1/2 weeks. Time flies when you're having fun, right?

What's your solution for a hot and humid outfit?
